Possible Reasons Why the Mobile Applications Fail

Have you ever imagined about a number of apps on the stores? According to Statista report in recent times, the number of apps on AppStore has increased from 1.5 to 2 million. For Google Play, the number grew from 1.8 to 2.2 million apps. The mobile app market developing very quickly with the customer-driven approach.

Among millions of apps, some become popular e.g. Tiktok. The quantity of the apps doesn’t mean their quality. On average, the customers installing the mobile app on their smartphones for only 8 seconds. So, While downloading the size of the app matters and when operating the speed, UI, and other factors. We think you can answer these questions by looking at this checklist of the key steps that prevent mobile app failure.

1. Failed to Solve the core problem

Before starting the mobile app development the team should clearly know what they’re building, why, how it will add value to the users. Majority of apps are built on the basis of popular idea’s or replica’s of those, you should design your unique flow to solve the problem of the customers do not forget the core what you’re solving. Even though the idea is the same you should design a unique way to present yourself. If you failed to cover the core or problem of what users are looking will disappointment and loss of trust. The app should focus on solving the customer problem rather than a business. Business is also important but at initial periods the aim should be towards solving the problems and when the app gets fame business will come automatically.

2. Lack of Good market research for understanding the target audience

The market research provides various insights about customer tastes, Preferences, and what they are looking for exactly. The team or company must do the research for understanding the target audience and what they’re looking for. You should not make underestimations, based on the data or information that you have. Things in the market will change rapidly than you think.

If you are not able to focus on your target audience accurately, surely it will be a blurry paint picture of your ideas, your application will never reach the right audience.

3. Confusion about choosing the right platform

Completion of any project within time period underestimated cost and resources is very important whether it is an android app or Ios app, you should select the right platform according to cost and time, best suitable for the requirement of the app. React native setting the trend for developing cross-platform apps at minimal costs & time. You should not go with a certain platform blindly just because it’s your choice or you like it. The mobile platform that you choose must be based on the decision of your target audience.

If you have an audience in both platforms that will be a great advantage. Because getting apps developed in both iPhone and Android platforms becoming normal in the mobile app industry.

4. Too Many or Too Few Features

Having sufficient, that fulfills the requirement is pleasant. When it comes to mobile apps get abandoned for lack of required or because of excessive. They couldn’t able to estimate, plan, or balance the required features and present the users with too few or too many features to be of use to them.

Unnecessary features might upset and push them to opt for something more specific to their needs. While if you have been too selective about adding features in your application, it too might also have an unpropitious effect of making your app failing.

Proper scrutinizing of features is must perform that helps in selecting the right features for your app.

5. Making It Too Complex for the Users

The app should be very simple to operate and it should not confuse the users with the complex operation. Once, have a look at popular or famous apps how simply they defined the functionality in simple steps without confusing the users. To improve the user experience, mobile app developers often make it complex for the users. The fact is that the users don’t give time to learn how to operate your application when there are multiple, simple easy operating options available.

In this case, the team needs to consider the localization or locational factors which vary according to the technological development of the place as well as the age of the users.

6. Failed in providing the Backend Support

Nowadays, Products and Services selling is based on users’ reviews and ratings. So, If the customer is not happy with the product or service he/she might share bad experience on various platforms. Backend support became one of the key factors that influence app success nowadays. Especially when your app is related to the service industry like E-Commerce, Hotel booking, Payment making. You should have a robust backend to make your app to be stable with good reviews and ratings.

7. Lack of Good marketing

When your company is not big or anybody doesn’t know about your app in the market, you should do different types of marketing activities until it gets noticed by the people. Be specific, the marketing activities cost very high based on what you choose. You can use social media to market or spread the word about your product. According to your budget, there are multiple ways to market your app through Ads, Special promotion events and etc.

8. Failure to Update the App, Based on Users’ Feedback

The sole purpose of your app is to solve the problems of your customers. If you avoid your feedback you will be out of the race soon. You should update the apps with attractive features and listen to your customer feedback and make you’re listening to them. Constantly you need to pay attention to the issues that they are facing whether it is introductory phase or maturity phase of the app. Fixing issues is important to keep the customers coming back to you.

Conclusion

You might have heard or read somewhere about above all, Still, there are many that are not covered in the article. Remember the above points, when you develop the next app and make sure your team doesn’t make any mistakes.
