There are millions of website on the Internet to provide services and information, Everyday hundreds of websites come to live after programming and through testing of the functionality. So what are the elements of a good website?
Development of a fully functional website is not an easy task it requires a good amount of efforts and creativity. One thing designers and developers should keep in mind that they are building a website for easing or serve the customers not to make the client happy. They should give priority to practicality and usability.
1. Where’s the Search box?
Whether it is a website of products or any other services sometimes the customer look for what they are seeing on the screen. So, the search box will help the customer to search for what they are looking for without wasting time. Even though the website is small the search box is essential.
2. Poor readability & lucidity
One of the key elements of web design. A website with a good interface will attract and retain the users’ by providing information about what they are looking for. Some websites practice the oddest font styles and sizes that make reading difficult and invisible. Navigation is also a key element in designing the website it should be seamless and does not confuse the customer. Users should be able to find what they are looking for easily. The navigation must be intuitive and consistent.

Most of the influential websites fit on most screen sizes like phone, tablet, and PC. You should know this information before starting your next project.
6. Unnecessary Images/Autoplay of Animations & videos.
Too many & big size images on a web page will reduce the speed. So, The website must use whatever the Images needed to capture the user’s attention. Images should explain or represent a specific purpose to the user.
7. Cluttered Pages, More Whitespace.
Most of the website designers forget about the importance of white space. They are so submerged in their own design creativity that they forget that it’s not about them. Thus, they try to occupy or fill the space of a single page as much as they can. This results in the cluttered and unreadable page.
8. Presenting too many advertisements
Publishing too many ads on the website really sucks. You might have observed news or CMS websites displaying too many ads. The designer should give space for limited Ads. Too many Ads might decrease the site loading speed that eventually effects the SERP of the website.
Keep it simple, stupid (K.I.S.S).That’s the bottom line. If it’s simple, it’s usable. All in all, great websites keep it simple and usable. Do your homework and it comes easily and naturally.
